Letter from Fatima
By Simeon Dumdum Jr. (Author)
Quick Overview
Simeon Dumdum's Letter form Fatima is a moving narrative in rime royal that the poet achieves with quiet aplomb. "Born of memory, steadfast spouse of truth," it recounts a soul's pilgrimage for forgiveness, healing from cancer, and grace through Mary, Mother of God, as the poet travels from Rome to witness the canonization of Pedro Calungsod to various Marian shrines in Fatima, Lourdes and Paris at rue du Bac. In stories about Calungsod, the children at Fatima, Bernadette Soubirous, and Catherine Laboure, the poet realizes faith as "reason's wiser brother," so that the soul at last "finds God its real business... Something it should have done right at the start."-Gemino H. Abad
